National Engineering Conference 2016 on ‘ National Policies - Voice of Engineers ’, appropriate to the times and trends.

The IESL held its 3rd  National Engineering Conference on Friday, 19th August, 2016 from 9.00 a.m. onwards at the Waters Edge. Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Hon. Minister for Special Assignments graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

This year’s theme for the event was “National Policies - Voice of Engineers”.

Welcoming the capacity audience to the conference Eng. Wimalsena Gamage,  President of IESL , emphasized the appropriateness and relevance of this year’s theme to the current times and trends in the country’s development

The Chief Guest, Hon.  Minister, Dr. Amunugama in his speech stressed on the need for engineers

During the sessions the presentation on “ Megapolis Development “ by Eng. Patalee Champika  Ranwaka, the Hon. Minister  of Megapolis and Western Region Development was the star attraction.

Vice-Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa, Prof. Ananda Jayawardane,   and the well-known Energy Consultant , Eng. (Dr.) Tilak Siyambalapitiya performed the  difficult but well done task of moderators for the panel discussions during the morning and afternoon sessions.
