The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) established in 1906 has been incorporated by an Act of Parliament and is the premier professional body representing Engineers in Sri Lanka. It has been vested with powers to award the professional qualification 'Chartered Engineer' to suitably qualified engineers.

The IESL is also a full member of the Engineers Mobility Forum (EMF) and a provisional member of the Washington Accord (WA). It is empowered to grant the internationally recognized qualification 'Professional Engineer' to its Corporate Members who are eligible for the same.

The IESL seeks a results oriented dynamic person with proven leadership qualities to be appointed as its Executive Secretary who would be the Chief Executive Officer of the Institution.

Job Profile:

• Identify the  goals and objectives for the Institution in accordance with its Corporate Plan
• Devise strategies and formulate policies to achieve the goals and objectives of the Corporate Plan
• Coordinate the activities of the Council and various other Committees of the Institution
• Manage, lead and motivate staff of the Secretariat
• Organize and manage the day to day affairs of the Secretariat

Personal Profile

• Should be a Corporate Member of the  IESL
• Should have at least 15 years experience in engineering after graduation which should include a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior executive position
• Should be conversant with human resource and financial management
• Should be preferably under 60 years of age

Preference would be given to persons who have held senior executive positions in public/private sector organisations and to those with post-graduate qualifications.

Salary: Negotiable
